Schlage Home Indoor Camera FAQs
Is the camera live?
Yes. The Internet-enabled camera connected to Nexia™ Home Intelligence will show live video via the mobile phone app or your Nexia subscription. The frame rate will be approximately 8 - 10 frames per second.
Is the camera closed circuit?
No. The camera can be accessed from the Internet via your Nexia subscription or on most smart phones with Internet access.
Is the video secure?
Yes. Through your Nexia subscription, the camera creates a secure connection directly to the video server so that video is not accessible outside that connection.
Can the camera be mounted outside?
No, the camera is not designed for outdoor use.
Can I install more than one camera onto my Nexia account?
Yes. You can add as many cameras as you want to your Nexia account.
Is video recording available?
Yes, video recording is available. You can store recorded video to watch from your online account. You can even start recording when someone enters a code at the front door.
Is pan/tilt/zoom available?
Can the camera be used with other Z-Wave based systems?
At this time, the Schlage Home Indoor Camera can only be used with Nexia, and is not compatible with other home automation services
Why does video turn off after 2 minutes?
The camera is intended to provide visual verification of current or triggered events, which generally are accomplished in 2 minutes or less. Video can be continued for additional 2 minute segments by selecting the PLAY icon.
Can I use cameras from other manufacturers?
Not at this time. The Schlage Home Indoor Camera is designed to provide a secure video connection, along with easy plug and play installation, not currently available with other cameras.
Is a Nexia Bridge or subscription required to view the camera?
You need to have a monthly subscription to NexiaTM Home Intelligence to use the remote management features of the camera via your mobile phone, tablet or internet. A Nexia bridge is not required for the camera, but is required to connect other devices (such as the thermostat, locks, and light modules) to the Internet.
