New! Nexia Video Storage
We have come out with a new video storage feature for Nexia, which gives you the ability to record and archive video footage using your Schlage Home Indoor Camera. The new feature also draws on other components of your Nexia system to give you unique ways to tap the system’s capabilities for even more uses.
With the enhanced features, you’ll be able to do much more with your camera beyond live monitoring. We wanted to give customers a way to more closely supervise what is happening in their home by extending the use of their cameras in conjunction with video recording.
New capabilities let you:
- Begin instantly recording videos while viewing them from your computer. You may be monitoring your home live when an event happens that you want to preserve, e.g. involving children, pets, babysitter—get the proof you need and don’t miss a thing. Now you can start and stop recording instantly with a simple touch or click.
- View recorded videos. Nexia saves and stores your videos to a library where you can later access them to view.
- Write-protect recorded videos to avoid automatic deletion. This is a handy feature you will be glad is there doing its behind-the-scenes work of making sure you don’t accidentally erase or record over valuable video.

Getting started with Nexia is simple. How much does the service cost? A Nexia subscription is just $8.99 per month, which includes 24/7 internet access to your Nexia™ Home Intelligence system. Your Nexia subscription is accessible through your Nexia account via most web-connected computers, tablets and smart phones. How does the Nexia™ Home Intelligence system work? Nexia works through Z-wave technology. Z-Wave devices communicate wirelessly with each other and with the Nexia Bridge. The Bridge plugs into your router to connect to your Broadband Internet. Use the Nexia mobile app or your online Nexia subscription to control various Nexia (Z-Wave-based) devices in your home. What is Z-Wave? Z-Wave is a next-generation wireless ecosystem that lets all your home electronics and other home hardware talk to each other. It uses simple, reliable, low-power radio waves that easily travel through walls, floors and cabinets.
