How does the Nexia Bridge work?
Your Z-Wave devices speak wirelessly to your Nexia Bridge. The Bridge plugs into your router to connect to your Broadband Internet. Use your online Nexia subscription via computer, tablet or smart phone app to control various Z-Wave devices in your home.
What is Z-Wave?
Z-Wave is a next-generation wireless ecosystem that lets all your home electronics and other home hardware talk to each other. It uses simple, reliable, low-power radio waves that easily travel through walls, floors and cabinets. Z-Wave control can be added to almost any electronic device in your house, even devices that you wouldn't ordinarily think of as "intelligent," such as locks, appliances, window shades, thermostats and home lighting. The Nexia™ Home Intelligence system uses Z-Wave technology.
Do I need the Nexia Bridge for my Nexia™ Home Intelligence system to work?
Yes, the Bridge is what enables all of your Nexia products to “speak” to each other and links them to your Nexia subscription where you may enjoy remote access and control of your Nexia devices.
