What is Nexia™ Home Intelligence?

Nexia™ Home Intelligence is a new way to run your home from anywhere. Nexia is the first to bring all the best of home automation technology together in one simple solution that you can manage remotely from your smart phone, iPad or computer. So now, when you’re away and everyone’s going in different directions, you can still know what’s happening at home and stay in control. Like making sure you turned off the lights after you left. Or that the kids got home from school okay. Adjusting the thermostat. Checking door locks. Turning off appliances-all the things that give you control and peace of mind regarding your home and family. Nexia is home automation made simple-and simply better-because now you stay connected everywhere you go.

How does Nexia™ Home Intelligence work?

Nexia™ Home Intelligence uses Z-Wave® technology—a wireless Radio Frequency-based communications technology—to transform a singular device into an intelligent networked device that can be securely monitored and controlled wirelessly. To ensure security, Nexia communications are fully-encrypted.

Nexia Bridge connects your Schlage Home Keypad Lock and other Z-Wave components (Home Dimmer Module, Remote Management Thermostat, etc.) to your existing router. The router provides an internet connection allowing you to control your home from your computer or mobile phone. It’s that easy.

What is Z-Wave

Z-Wave® is a next- generation wireless “ecosystem” that allows certain home electronics to talk to each other, and to the user, via low power radio waves.

Will my products work on other Z-Wave based home automation systems?

Yes, Nexia products are compatible with other Z-Wave® based systems. However, not all of the features that the Nexia service offers will be available through other providers. Also, please note that Schlage® Home Indoor Cameras only work on the Nexia™ Home Intelligence system.

What do I need to set-up Nexia?

Nexia™ Home Intelligence is smart enough to make set-up simple. What you need to get set-up:

  • Active broadband internet connection
  • Router with at least one available port
  • Computer with internet access and a supported internet browser
  • A valid email address
  • A compatible phone with an internet data plan for remote features
  • Nexia Bridge

What is the cost of the monthly service?

The Nexia™ Home Intelligence monthly service fee is $8.99 to have remote access and control of all Nexia-enabled devices. You will receive a one-month trial period when you activate your service.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes, you may cancel your service anytime. There is no contract when you sign up for Nexia™ Home Intelligence.

Is there an installation option if I don’t want to install the thermostat or door locks myself?

If you prefer to have professional installation help, Nexia has partnered with InstallerNet to provide this service.  To sign up for an appointment, either go to: http://installcard.com/ActivateH/Location.aspx to sign up or call (800)806-5513.

How does Nexia™ Home Intelligence compare to other home automation solutions on the market?

Simply put - We are much simpler. We allow you to build your own system and add products as you need to.
