A. The transition to Nexia™ Home Intelligence

Why the name change?

As we evolve and enrich our home automation solution to meet your needs and make your life easier, we want a name that shows it. That’s why Schlage LiNK™ is now Nexia™ Home Intelligence.

The new name comes from the word nexus—meaning a connectedness between a group of things. We feel that idea embodies the simple wireless way the Nexia system connects within the home and the way it enables you to connect with your home so you can manage it from anywhere.

What’s different?

Along with the new name comes a more powerful foundation for your home automation needs. Nexia signifies the coming together of two trusted brands in safety, comfort and efficiency—Schlage home security products and Trane, a world leader in heating and cooling. This new partnership gives subscribers a strong foundation for their Nexia system to continue to evolve and grow. And an expanding roster that includes many Nexia compatible partner brands to create a system that has nearly limitless possibilities.


B. Products

What else is changing?

You will gradually notice a name change from Schlage LiNK to Nexia on product packaging in stores and online wherever Schlage LiNK and Nexia products are sold. The change is in name only—the products, warranties and support remain the same, and the products—whether labeled as Schlage LiNK or as compatible with Nexia™ Home Intelligence—are all part of the same system now known as Nexia.

Can I still buy Schlage LiNK products?

Yes, until April 2012, you will still see and be able to purchase products with Schlage LiNK packaging wherever they are available. Whether the package says Schlage LiNK or Nexia, the products themselves will not change—only the name—and all work on the Nexia system.

Do I need to upgrade the Schlage LiNK products I have?

No, there’s no need to upgrade anything. It’s the same system but now more powerful than before with even more terrific brands to enhance your home automation experience. From time to time we will offer new, expanded product capabilities; these announcements can be found on the What’s New page.


C. Remote Management Subscription

Will my online account change?

No, your online account will not change and will allow you the same wherever-whenever home access and control as before. The only immediate difference you will notice is the Nexia name wherever Schlage LiNK used to be. All system features and functionality are the same.

Do I need to cancel my Schlage LiNK subscription and sign up for Nexia?

No, all current Schlage LiNK subscribers will become Nexia™ Home Intelligence subscribers immediately. There is no action required from you. With the transition to Nexia, email notifications will now be sent to you from a different Nexia email address and you will see the Nexia name in all of our communications with you.

Will there be any changes to my subscription amount?

No, Nexia will continue to provide convenient 24/7 online access to your home for $8.99 per month.


D. Support

Can I still get support for my Schlage LiNK products?

Yes, we are here for all of our subscribers whether you purchased Schlage LiNK or Nexia products. Our customer service representatives are well-versed in the complete lineup of products and can assist you with whatever questions you may have. Customer Service is available seven days a week by phone at 877.288.7707.

Why do Nexia products have different names than my Schlage LiNK products?

With the change to Nexia, several products were also renamed with more descriptive terms. As product lines evolve and we continue to expand our system capabilities, the new naming conventions make room for products to be easily added to the lineup and more easily understood by our subscribers. Where can I find user and installation guides and videos for my Schlage LiNK products?

User and installation guides and videos for Schlage LiNK products can be found in the Setup and Installation section of this site as well as on each individual product page within Products. Some product names, however, have changed.
