Ingersoll Rand’s Nexia Home Intelligence presented strategies for the connected digital home technology industry at CONNECTIONS™: The Premier Connected Home Conference

Broomfield, CO, May 15, 2014 – George Land, General Manager of the Ingersoll Rand’s Nexia™ Home Intelligence participated yesterday as a speaker at the CONNECTIONS™: The Premier Connected Home Conference, hosted by Parks Associates, May 13-15 in San Francisco. George participated in the session “Integrating Products and Smart Home Platforms.”

CONNECTIONS™ focuses on innovative solutions for the connected consumer and leading strategies to monetize digital content, mobile applications and services, value-added services, connected consumer electronics, and home systems. “CONNECTIONS is the only conference solely focused on innovative technology and business solutions for the connected home, and we are excited to be a part of it,” said George. “We look forward to sharing our insights and discussing the critical issues surrounding the integration of products into home automation platforms. Many consumers are beginning to realize that individual apps controlling individual products will very quickly become unwieldy and fail to deliver the full potential of a truly interoperable system of connected products, what Nexia has made core to its model. This conference offers a great forum for industry leaders to meet and discuss various avenues for the industry as a whole to address this consumer opportunity.”

The interactive panel session, moderated by Tom Kerber, Director, Research, Home Controls & Energy, Parks Associates, examined current efforts to achieve interoperability and its importance in realizing the vision of the connected home.

Parks Associates research shows 42% of broadband households rate monitoring their air conditioner highly appealing; 28% of broadband households rate monitoring their dishwasher highly appealing.

The conference, hosting 350+ industry executives, media and analysts featured research sessions on OTT video, mobile and product apps, connected CE, and the connected home. The 18th-annual CONNECTIONS™ Conference was held at the Airport Marriott Waterfront and featured keynote presentations from AT&T, Lowe’s, ARRIS, Cisco, and iControl Networks.

“For 18 years, CONNECTIONS™ has been bringing together the top leaders in the connected home industries, and this year’s conference is no exception,” said Stuart Sikes, President, Parks Associates. “We are looking forward to Ingersoll Rand Nexia Home Intelligence participating and providing insights into the changes and developments in the market.”
